Yay! Paper Posies has just revealed the August kit and it's a gorgeous one - as always! The August kit is full of the fun new line from Basic Grey called "Lemonade." Plus awesome Thickers, buttons, brads, and paper flowers...

We just spent the last week in the north woods of Wisconsin on our annual "up north" trip. We love staying in the rustic old cabins at Idle Hour resort, cut off from cell phones, TV, and work. I came home to two exciting scrapping updates... first, I'm so thrilled to be guest designing for Paper Posies again! They've asked me to help out with the August kit. And, also related to Paper Posies, they've just announced fun new changes to their contests and challenges. I've been busy scrapping with the August Paper Posies kit, and can't share the designs until they're revealed on the website. Since I'm doing a layout about my recent high school reunion, here are a few fun pictures from the evening!

It's hard to explain how a decade can feel like a very long time, and yet that time flew by so very fast! Tonight is my 10 year high school reunion and I'm lucky to be going with my group of high school friends that still stays in touch.
I was inspired to do a layout about my lovely high school friends after we recently all got together for Val's Bachelorette Party.
For this page I used the May Paper Posies kit. I am loving the little birdies on the patterned paper!
And here is a close-up of the embossing I did on the patterned paper. A little extra sparkle on the center of the flowers helps coordinate the background paper to the fun Crate Paper die cuts. In this image, I've embossed the center of the flower in the bottom left corner of the image.
This technique was easier than it looks! I used an embossing pen - mine's by Zig - to color in the center of the flowers I wanted to make sparkle. Then I poured on a little holographic embossing powder, shook off the excess, and used my embossing gun to heat and set the powder. Since it was such a small area to emboss, each one took less than a minute!
The black and white photo was taken 13 years ago, the summer after freshman year - can you believe it?!

June was a very busy month for us = not much time for scrapping. But with the long 4th of July weekend, I finally had the time to pull out the June Paper Posies kit and make some layouts!
The June kit also had some gorgeous teal, cream and orange papers, plus big fabric flowers from Pink Paislee... so I'm dreaming up some girly layouts next!

A new month means a new kit at my favorite kit club - Paper Posies! I am in love with this kit... the unique colors and embellishments, oh and the Jenni Bowlin alphabet!
Love it - can't wait till it arrives in a few days!!!
